Helping You Move Past Your “Hard Days” and Take Control of Your Life
The most difficult thing might be making that initial phone call to ask for help.
I am here to help you.
Most people come to therapy because there is something going on in their lives that they want to feel better about. Often times when people come to me, they tell me they don’t feel they’re good enough, yet everyone sees them as having it all together and at the top of their game. You feel like you’re this imposter that is going to be found out sooner or later. You may hear from others that you are so hard on yourself, yet you just don’t see it.
Some people also report that they are either always on edge, anxious, overwhelmed, or on the other hand, depressed. The frustrating thing for them is that they don’t know why they are experiencing these things. What they do notice that they are having a hard time in their relationships, but again, don’t know why. That’s part of what therapy is about, is finding what’s at the root of these feelings.
Deciding to come to therapy, and finding the right therapist for you, is a big step in itself. What I generally let people know is that making that first call can be the hardest part. Once you’re able to make that first connection, there is often a sense of relief that you found someone you know will understand you.
During your session, you are in the pilot’s seat. Therefore, you are the one that ultimately controls how fast or slow we go. Think of me as your co-pilot, in the sense that I am there to support you, help guide you, and navigate through this journey.
I offer both traditional talk therapy and EMDR therapy. I love helping people understand what is holding them back and how to move forward.
